Introductory Profile: About Elsa García del Mendoza Corona del Rosal

Elsa García de Mendoza Corona del Rosal grew up in Mexico City and moved to France to study French and Journalism. Later in 1959, she got a scholarship to work at the Houston Chronicle here in Texas. While living in Houston she met her husband and has lived in the United States ever since. Now she has a daughter and a granddaughter. In her free time she teaches Spanish at ACC and publishes her father's manuscripts. Elsa García de Mendoza Corona del Rosal is a petite woman with dark brown curly hair and hazel eyes. She is a very loving person and is wonderful to be around.

During the interview, Elsa García de Mendoza Corona del Rosal told me about the differences between Mexico and the US. She was very surprised when she came to the US in the late 50's and saw blacks treated so harshly. The interview had a very professional mood. Over all, I had an amazing time interviewing Elsa García de Mendoza Corona del Rosal, my grandmother.
