Introductory Profile: About Sai Aduru

My interviewee, Sai Aduru, was born in 1972 in the city of Hyderabad, India. She immigrated to the US at the age of 24 to support her family. She has black hair, brown eyes, and is a loving, hard-working woman who always speaks from the heart.

During the interview, we covered topics such as women’s rights and protection in addition to human rights in India. We talked about the importance of women in Indian society and specific practices before a marriage. We also discussed the caste system and how it has affected marriages.

The overall tone of the interview was serious. This was partly because the topic of interview was very emotional and depressing. It was very calm and quiet, and the topic struck me as interesting. As I listened intently, I wondered how much her rights in India affected the brave and intelligent person she is today.
