As Interviewed by Zimm Davis, March 11, 2015
Introductory Profile: About Sharon Rader
Sharon Rader is 78 years old, witty, funny and nice. She is my grandma and lives in Evanston Illinois. She was born and raised in Battle Creek Michigan. She became one of the first female bishops in the Methodist church in the mid 1970’s and was appointed head of the bishops. Later she was the chief ecumenical officer for the Methodist church.
We discussed the roles of women in male dominated positions and the positions of her experience in one of those positions. The tone was something similar to equality is needed and fast. Sharon is currently working on an oral history project as well.
