Introductory Profile: About Michael Rose

Michael Rose served four years in the naval academy, and over ten years in the marines, then another ten in the reserves. Michael Rose, my grandpa, grew up in a small town in Kentucky. He flew a F4 Phantom in the marines. He joined the naval academy when he was 18 years old. From 1965-1979 Michael Rose was in the naval academy, then he joined the marines in the military. My grandpa was able to serve in the military, and found much social justice. Michael Rose is very tall and has blue eyes. He is very kind and has a great sense of humor.

During the interview, my grandpa talked about his life in the military. He talked about the experiences of flying the F4 phantom. We also covered the environment of the military, and how everyone depends on everyone. My grandpa told me when he served, skin color didnít matter, but things were very different outside of his hometown. The tone of the interview was very light and relaxed, just sharing stories.
