Introductory Profile: About Wenyun Wang

Wenyun Wang was born and raised in Shanxi, China. Later in life, she studied polymer materials in college for her undergraduate and master's degrees. Afterwards, she was a lecturer at a college in China for four years, and in 2004 she moved to the United States. I met her through my parents, since our families have been family friends for a long time.

During the interview, we talked about what it was like during the 1976 Tangshan earthquake, one of the deadliest natural disasters in history. We talked mainly about what happened during the aftershocks after the original earthquake. She remembered being scared, but mainly worried, because not all of her family members were with her at the time. However, since she was so young at the time, around four years-old, she doesn’t recall much of it, however there were some significant moments that she still remembers today.
